If you wish to edit the action you can make changes in Photoshop but it is sometimes easier to use any simple text editor. How about a free portrait retouching action that includes frequency separation? To smooth skin you are best to use the patch tool with a slight feather - That is what I do. You can now either change colours without changing details or visa versa. The high frequency layer is your 'detail' layer and the low frequency layer is your 'colour' layer effectively. You now have both layers that when blended together make the same image as the bottom layer or original layer. 16 bit would be Add instead of subtract and 0 for offset.Ĭhange top or 'high freq' layer to linear light. Select and make visible the top layer again. Uncheck the top layer, blur the 'low freq' layer - I have done this far too on the image below just to make it visible. I have pasted a few graphics to help below. And that step (the blur) is very early in the process so I dont think it'll help you. The problem you will have with an action is that the amount of gaussian blur needed will change with each photo.
